Japanese Home Cooking

Japanese cuisine is celebrated around the world for being healthy, beautifully balanced, and full of flavor. Yet beyond sushi and ramen lies a rich world of everyday home cooking—seasonal, nourishing, simple to prepare, and rarely found on restaurant menus outside Japan.

Ichiju-sansai — ‘one soup, three dishes’ — the quiet architecture of a Japanese home meal.

After living in Japan for many years, I have fallen in love not only with its food but also with the culture that surrounds it. That’s what inspired me to open my kitchen and share authentic Japanese home cooking with others. Each class features a carefully selected seasonal menu, typically including a soup, a main dish, and several side dishes. As we cook together, you’ll learn not only the recipes but also the techniques, ingredients, and traditions behind them. I’ll also share practical ingredient substitutions and shopping tips, so you can recreate these dishes with confidence wherever you live.

More than anything, I hope you’ll leave with a deeper appreciation of Japanese cuisine, the confidence to cook it in your own kitchen, and wonderful memories of a meal we created together.

I look forward to welcoming you to my table, where we’ll cook, share stories, and discover Japan one meal at a time.
